Really enjoyed our rooms with electric blankets on the bed. Location: the hotel was just next door to Chris's wonderful Beacon View/Hill restaurant as well as Apollo Bay, Great Ocean Harvest Trail and the Otways.

Our house (Sabine) was just great. The entire complex consists of scattered houses in a beautiful eucalyptus forest. The equipment is great, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, stove, etc., very spacious and stylish! The view from our terrace was overwhelming. At night you can hear the sea rustling AND the koalas roar !! On the first day there was a koala in the tree in front of our house! Can you be better greeted? If you look closely, you can see several koalas taking a short walk in the forest. We also discovered an echidna, along with many great birds, including parrots. Unfortunately we were not so lucky with the weather, but enjoyed our stay to the fullest.
Nothing but the weather ;-)

Recommend because I truly enjoyed it and did not want to leave there. Whole place was fairly clean with fabulous views; great and stunning location to taxi or transportation to town. The hotel rooms were impeccably clean and huge.

The location on stilts was a unique feature, but unfortunately, whenever the people next door walked around, the whole building shook. The villas were halfway up the mountain, providing a stunning view of the ocean and close proximity to beautiful hikes and waterfalls. The abundance of wildlife, including koalas, bandicoots, and native birds.
The lack of soundproofing in the villas made it difficult for light sleepers like me to get a good night's rest.

Just improve the sigh posts on the track to the resort once you turn off the main road, reflective paint would make a Big difference and correctly placed.. Thanks

The view was fantastic even, wildlife up close and amusing. Kitchen was well appointed and great for self catering and having heating and fireplace terrific for cold nights.
A little more attention to bathroom paintwork and dusting along with possibly a new mattress could raise the Sheoak to the Romance/Honeymoon category - It could even be raised to the Luxury level with a new bathroom and lounge! PS Intention here is constructive criticism as we had a wonderful time!

This place was an excellent starting point for exploring the area, had a great time, and interacted with friendly staff while staying in a room with wonderful views of the ocean and nature.

Beautiful views, great cosy atmosphere to the villa, log burner was a bonus. On the down side we think the shower could do with an update but this wasn't a deal breaker.
